It is time to make your reservations for the 2006 4th Annual International
Matchbox Collectors Community Hall (MCCH) Gathering of Friends Convention.
Sponsored by Mattel. 21 - 23 July 2006 in Albuquerque, New Mexico USA.
Route 66 Promotions, MCCH and Mattel have teamed up and is a full sponsor
for this event. There will be numerous events including,
Friday 21, July 2006: Meet and Greet, In Room Trading. Saturday 22, July
2006: Dinner with guest speakers John Coyne, Felix Holst, Louise Ocasion and
Michael Heralda. An Auction will follow. In room trading will continue
throughout the day and evening. Sunday 23, July 2006: The best toy show
around. Buyers and sellers from around the world. Mattel will be set up and
display the product line as well as a Mattel Play Area for the kids. There
will be the now famous "downhill races". Bring your fastest Matchbox
or other 1:64 die-cast car. There will also be an open class for those of you
who like to tinker. (no engines permitted, gravity only) Prizes and fun. Other
goodies to be added.
There will be 3 very limited CODE 1 MODELS only available at this
convention.
1. General show model to be sold at shows by Mattel 2006 Ford Crown
Victoria (MB689) 1 of 500 models (with special factory blister card with event
details).
2. Dinner Model only available to those who attend the dinner - 1961 Jaguar
E-Type Coupe (MB688) (1 of 150 in a special acrylic case).
3. Dealer Model (1 model per paid table will be given to each dealer) -
Chevrolet Corvette C6 (MB630) 1 of 500 models. The remaining models will be,
1st offered to dealers with a limit of 10 extras. The remainder will be
offered to attendees and any remaining models to members.
There will also be Mattel approved in very limited quantities. Matchbox
1:64, Convoy and a Yesteryear as well as the ever popular Hot Wheel model.
This is the best die-cast convention on the planet, so don't miss this one.
